WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Humane Society hosted the annual Clear the Shelters event on Saturday.

The annual event is in its tenth year. At least 29 animals were adopted during the event.

“It’s been a really good day, we’re really happy with the number (of adoptions) we’ve gotten,” Kansas Humane Society’s Director of Communications Jordan Bani-Younes said.

The space created at the humane society by the event is immediately filled with animals from the Wichita Animal Service, Bani-Younes said.

All of the animals are microchipped, vaccinated spayed/neutered.

If you missed the event on Saturday, it will also run on Sunday at the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside St ., Wichita, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

KHS is offering $25 adoption fees for adult dogs (6 months and older) and kittens (11 months and under). Puppies and high-profile dogs are excluded from the reduced fees. Adult cats will remain as pick-your-price.

If you cannot attend the weekend event, you can still help animals by donating to the Kansas Humane Society to provide food, shelter and medical care. Click here to donate.
