    Authorities working I-70 crash west of Topeka

    Update 11:15 a.m.: A KHP patrol member told a 27 News reporter at the scene that the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver is injured but the injuries aren’t life-threatening.

    TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office, Topeka Fire Department and Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) are working a crash west of Topeka.

    According to the KHP, a witness saw the crash happen just west of Southwest Carlson Road on I-70. The KHP said the witness told them the driver had been driving across the road before going into a ditch. The vehicle went through a fence before coming to a stop.

    The driver is currently being taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. A 27 News reporter saw the ambulance depart for the hospital.
