    Border Patrol to honor 9/11 victims with ceremony

    EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) – The U.S. Border Patrol’s Big Bend Sector will host a solemn remembrance ceremony to honor and remember those who lost their lives in the September 11 terrorist attacks.

    The event will be held at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the U.S. Border Patrol Station in Alpine, Texas, U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced in a news release.

    El Paso Fire ready to remember 9/11 terror attacks

    CBP said the event will include a moment of silence, a wreath-laying at the station’s 9/11 memorial and remarks from U.S. Border Patrol leadership and local officials.

    “A centerpiece of the ceremony will be the Alpine Station’s 9/11 artifact — a 1,300-pound piece of steel from the World Trade Center. This significant artifact, the only one of its kind in the Big Bend Sector, serves as a poignant reminder of the resilience and strength of the American people,” read the news release.
