Sheetz To Open Soon On Shipyard Boulevard
The first Sheetz convenience store and gas station within Wilmington’s city limits is set to open Tuesday, according to a news release. The new Sheetz, located at 2517 Shipyard Blvd., will hold a grand opening celebration starting at 9 a.m. The event includes multiple prizes, a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:45 a.m. and free self-serve coffee and soda.

Swimming advisory issued for section of beach in Oak Island
OAK ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — The state has advised beachgoers to be aware of the floodwaters being pumped to the ocean surf in Oak Island. Recent rains caused flooding of streets, yards, and housing in parts of Oak Island and nearby communities. According to a news release, to minimize the flooding damage and to ensure roads are accessible for emergency vehicles, the town has pumped floodwater into the ocean near Crowell Street. Surfers and swimmers should avoid these sites.
