Bombers Name Mark Whitehead Next Head Coach
Bryan/College Station, TX (July 18, 2024) – The Brazos Valley Bombers are excited to announce that Mark Whitehead will be the team’s next head coach for the 2025 TCL season. Whitehead will also take the reigns as interim manager for the remainder of this season as Brian Nelson has accepted the head coach position at Division 1 Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

On Thursday at SEC media days in Dallas, Aggies senior defensive lineman Shemar Turner was asked about the highly anticipated matchup. “You hear it definitely most from the fans. It is exciting. I’m ready to go in there and play a team like UT at the crib so it’s going to be pretty fun. We’re locked in and focused on just getting better everyday and working up until that point,” Turner foretold. “It’s going to be exciting. I’m not gonna lie, Aggieland is going to change. College Station girls basketball coach Shawnte’ Goff felt burned out as the days went on while playing professional basketball just three years ago. There was no doubt she was still in peak playing condition, averaging nearly 18 points per game in her last season for Sodertalje in the Swedish Women’s Basketball League.
