Dickinson man in custody for sexual abuse of a child

DICKINSON, ND ( KXNET ) — A man in Dickinson is in custody at the Southwest Multi-County Correctional Center.

According to the Dickinson Police Department, Lukas Dougherty, a 24-year-old man, was arrested for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, which is a class AA felony.

Officers said they got a report of the man engaging in sexual acts with a minor, and detectives looked into the allegations.

The investigation showed that the man had allegedly sexually assaulted the victim on multiple occasions over the past month.
