BNSF train breaks down in Oriska

ORISKA, ND ( KXNET ) — A Burlington Northern Santa Fe train broke down Friday morning at a rail crossing in Oriska.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the train suffered a mechanical issue around 5:15 a.m., and stopped at the crossing, blocking Highway 32.

Authorities say it took 90 minutes to repair the train and get it moving again. The intersection is no longer blocked.

There’s no word on what the specific “mechanical issue” was that caused the train to stop.
