MINOT, N.D.– Entering into their inaugural varsity season, the Sentinels couldn’t be happier than to start fall camp in their new home.

“We’re really excited to be at our home field. It’s been a long couple of years of traveling around town and not really having a home. To get to do it with kids we started with two years ago it’s really special, and we’re excited to play some varsity football”, said Head Coach Jacob Holmen.

Minot North are led by a group of juniors who planted their seeds two years ago, as the first class to represent the navy blue and silver colors.

“We’ve been out here for two years since freshman year. We were the first class. All of this money for this brand new nice school, it’s going to be special this year. I’m going to take a lot of pride in this team and what we can do this season and next season”, said Brayden Blikre.

“Grateful for being able to be apart of the first team to be apart of this school. We were the original guys. We had a pretty bad first season, and then we came back from that last year. I’m thankful for my coaches for giving me this opportunity”, said Evan Berg.

With only four seniors, the Sentinels will rely heavily on leadership from the younger players.

“Our coaches always say that are juniors have to be like seniors, our sophomores have to be like juniors, and freshman have to be like sophomores, so like we got to be on that next level. We have some freshman this year that’s out here brining the leadership all day and bringing the juice. Everybody’s just out here helping each other”, said Paxton Packulak.

In the early going, the Sentinels believe that one of their strengths will come in the aerial attack, as they believe that they got some guys who can go up and come down with the with the pig skin.

“They defiantly took a step up from the past few years. They’re out here everyday running routes and everything. Defiantly put a lot of time in the summer lifting with our whole team and just routes every week”, said Blikre.
