    Two injured in Interstate 29 rear-end crash

    NORTH DAKOTA ( KXNET ) — Two women have been injured and a man may be facing charges after a rear-end collision that occurred in Traill County on the morning of Sunday, August 18.

    According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at around 11:22 a.m., a Chevy Prism and a Hyundai Santa Fe were traveling northbound in the right lane of Interstate 29 approximately two miles north of Buxton.

    The Hyundai then struck the rear of the Chevy before coming to rest on the right shoulder of the highway facing north. The Chevy came to rest in the median facing southwest.

    The driver of the Chevy (a 19-year-old woman from Hope) and the Hyundai’s passenger (a 29-year-old woman from Grand Forks) were injured during the collision, and transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks for treatment.

    The driver of the Hyundai — a 24-year-old man from Reynolds — was not injured in the accident. Charges against the man are currently pending.
