    Bicyclist severely injured in Grafton car crash

    NORTH DAKOTA ( KXNET ) — A bicyclist has been rushed to the hospital after being struck by a car on State Highway 17 on the evening of Monday, August 19.

    According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at around 5:17 p.m., a 67-year-old man from Park River was traveling east on the highway by bicycle when he made an abrupt maneuver and turned north near the school near Mile Marker 119.

    At this time, a Chevrolet Suburban was traveling east behind the bicycle. When the bicycle swerved into the Chevrolet’s lane, the car struck it from the side.

    The bicyclist sustained severe injuries as a result of the crash, and was brought to Unity Hospital for treatment.

    The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
