MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — One faculty member at Minot State is being Celebrated for making all the difference in her students’ lives.

Katelynn Albers, an assistant professor of accounting at Minot State University received The Making The Difference Award from the North Dakota CPA Society last week at a conference in Medora.

The award is given every year and it recognizes someone who has made a big impact in education, community service, or the CPA Association.

Albers says being recognized by Minot State University, which she once attended as a student herself, is an amazing feeling.

“Just being recognized by Minot State for my impact on students and the North Dakota CPA Society and the profession feels really good,” said Albers.

Classes start at MSU in less than a week, and students are starting to make their way back to campus for the fall semester.

Albers says that the most important accolade she receives is watching her students succeed every year.

“Through teaching, I have been able to impact even more students but the best part is seeing the jobs they get outside of college, see them succeed see them pass the CPA exam so that really rewarding to help them start in their career,” said Albers.

Classes for the fall semester at Minot State University start next Monday, and Albers is ready to welcome her next batch of students.
