NORTH DAKOTA ( KXNET ) — Football has started its pre-season games, and many Americans are loyal fans.

While some states have multiple teams, some don’t have one — like North Dakota. When that happens, support is based on proximity, family ties, or personal interests.

And based on new research , proximity holds the greatest influence on fans.

Of the 73% of people who plan on watching games this season, it’s not a surprise that the Dallas Cowboys were voted the most and least interesting teams to watch as it’s also the most believed team in America.

However, the previous Super Bowl contenders — The Kansas City Chiefs and San Fransisco 49ers — are also teams that people are most excited to watch.

What North Dakotans are doing for self-care

For North Dakota, since the state doesn’t have an NFL team, people root for the Minnesota Vikings, along with South Dakota and obviously Minnesota. North Dakota is also home to many Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears fans.

Montana, along with California, Iowa, and Utah, roots for the San Fransisco 49ers.

How can people watch the games this season? They will be televised on ABC, CBS, ESPN, FOX, NBC, NFL Network, Amazon Prime Video , and Netflix .

Thursday Night Footbal l can be found on Amazon Prime Video, Sunday games will air on FOX and CBS (you can stream them on Paramount+ ), Sunday Night Football will be on NBC (you can stream them on Peacock ), Monday Night Football will be on ESPN (but double headers will also air on ABC or ESPN+ ).

International football games will be on Peacock and the NFL Network, and the Christmas games will be on Netflix only.

The first game of the regular season is taking place on September 5 at 7:20 p.m. between the Baltimore Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs.
