    APD: Man dies 2 days after I-35 crash

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man died two days after a crash involving five vehicles near southeast Austin, according to the Austin Police Department.

    APD said officers responded to a crash Aug. 15 in the 12500 block of South Interstate 35 heading north.

    According to police, 30-year-old Pedro Arroyo, a driver of one of the vehicles, was taken to the hospital, but later died Aug. 17.

    Occupants in a second vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and according to APD, no other injuries were reported from the remaining three vehicles.

    APD said the incident was being investigated as Austin’s 56th fatal crash of 2024.
