Borah Elementary closure causes CDA school district to reorganize

    2024-05-12

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- The Coeur d'Alene school board will discuss how to redistribute students from the soon-to-be-closed Borah Elementary School on Monday.

In April, the school board voted to close Borah Elementary in an attempt to save Coeur d'Alene School District nearly $1 million.

The district currently faces a $6 million budget deficit due to low enrollment and inflation.

A proposed restructuring of Borah's student body would send 114 students to Bryan Elementary, making the school's total enrollment 385.

Borah Elementary will close before the 2024-2025 school year.

Below, you can find the current and proposed district maps.
