    Shopping event in Coeur d'Alene will support foster kids

    COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho - People who shop at select local businesses in Coeur d'Alene will have the opportunity to support foster kids who are aging out of foster care.

    "Sip and Shop for Safety Net" week in Downtown Coeur d'Alene runs from May 24 - May 31.

    When certain items are purchased from participating businesses, Numerica Credit Union will donate $1 to Safety Net Inland NW, up to $3,500.

    Safety Net helps teens and young adults transition out of foster care by providing them with gently-used items, clothes, educational support and anything they need to help with their transition.

    Items being sold during the "Sip and Shop" event that benefit Safety Net include cocktails, coffees, handmade goods, and more. Here's the list of the participating businesses and their promotions .
