Children of the Sun Trail Garland bridge to close through June

SPOKANE, Wash. - Starting Tuesday, May 28, the Children of the Sun Trail Garland bridge at the Garland Avenue overcrossing of the North Spokane Corridor will be closed.

According to the Washington Department of Transportation, the bridge will be closed for finishing touches, including building the permanent barrier, lighting and the staircase that will connect to Market Street.

WSDOT said a contractor began work last week on connection plazas in the Hillyard neighborhood and will now start on the finishing touches for the bridge.

The bridge will close to all pedestrians and bikes from May 28 through Friday, June 21.

Alternate routes are available via Euclid Avenue.
