Wanted attempted murder fugitive arrested in Stevens County

SPRINGDALE, Wash. -- Law enforcement has located a man suspected of attempted murder and assault out of Stevens County.

The U.S. Marshals Service advised the community Nathan Benninger was considered armed and dangerous on earlier this week.

PREVIOUS: Potentially armed and dangerous suspect wanted in Stevens County

On August 15, Stevens County detectives, Border Patrol agents, and the Marshals Service learned Benninger was hiding at a residence in Springdale about an hour north of Spokane.

Just after midnight Thursday, Spokane County SWAT went to Springdale and Benninger was arrested around 1:30 a.m.

He was booked into the Stevens County Jail for three felony warrants including assault and attempted murder. Deputies also located a handgun on him.
