KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho. — A man was sentenced to prison on Tuesday for felony domestic battery and a felony no contact order violation, according to Kootenai County Prosecutor.

On April 30, 2024, 21-year-old Hunter Nathan Rowden severely beat his pregnant girlfriend after being questioned about his fidelity.

According to police, they observed that Rowden’s girlfriend had a bloodied mouth and lips, a swollen jaw, a bulge under her left ear, and bruising on her right leg.

Officers learned she could not protect her face because she was pregnant and had to shield her abdomen.

Rowden fled the scene before officers arrived, but police found him at a nearby restaurant.

On May 1, 2024, Rowden’s bond was set at $250,000 and issued a no-contact order.

Rowden subsequently violated this order by contacting his girlfriend in the weeks following his arrest.

Rowden had a prior no-contact order related to a separate incident, with convictions for violations on December 1, 2023, and March 8, 2024.

Additionally, Rowden was on felony probation for a 2020 conviction involving cocaine and a handgun.

Despite repeated probation violations in 2021 and 2022, Rowden remained on probation until his recent arrest.

Rowden was sent to prison for violating his probation, consecutive the following sentences:

    • Felony Domestic Battery – 10 years in prison with parole eligibility after 5 years
    • Felony No Contact Order Violation – 5 years in prison with no parole
