    Liquid nitrogen leak under control on North Nevada Avenue

    (COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) and the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) responded to a hazmat incident in the University Village Shopping Center on Monday, Aug. 26.

    Just before 11:30 a.m. on Monday, CSPD and CSFD responded to the scene in the 5200 block of North Nevada Avenue, where crews reported a malfunction in a 550-gallon liquid nitrogen tank.

    At around 11:45 a.m., CSFD said via X (formerly known as Twitter), that the leak had been mitigated.
