(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Wednesday, Aug. 28, Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) patrol officers responded when the victim of a burglary had found some of their stolen property being sold on Facebook Marketplace.

Officers contacted CSPD Motor Vehicle Theft and Metro Burglary Investigators, who identified the suspect as 26-year-old Matthew Kingery, according to CSPD. Investigators tracked him to a storage facility on South Circle Drive and used surveillance to follow the suspects, who were in a stolen vehicle, to a nearby shopping center.

CSPD reported that, with assistance from the Tactical Enforcement Unit and K9 officers, three adults, including Kingery, were detained. The next day, detectives searched three storage units linked to Kingery, recovering all of the burglary victim’s property, along with two stolen vehicles, two firearms, and items from at least three other thefts and burglaries.
