UPDATE: Motorcyclist killed in deadly morning I25 crash

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — According to CSP, two vehicles, a Toyota RAV4 and a Honda motorcycle were involved in the deadly crash.
The Colorado State Patrol reported that an 18-year-old man from Texas was driving the RAV4 southbound on I-25 when the vehicle veered off the left side of the road. It hit a cable rail, spun out of control, and ultimately struck an abutment, coming to a stop and partially blocking the left lane.
The Honda motorcycle, driven by a 43-year-old man from Colorado, passed slowing traffic on the left and struck the left front of the RAV4. It then lost control, and the driver was ejected when the motorcycle veered off the road. The motorcycle continued south and hit a deer fence where it came to a stop.
When CSP arrived, they found that the motorcycle rider was deceased at the scene. The RAV4 driver was taken to the hospital but had no injuries.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, a multiple-vehicle crash call came in around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday. When troopers arrived, they found one person deceased, and one was taken to the hospital.
The southbound lanes of I-25 were fully closed around 5 a.m. and reopened around 10 a.m. The scene is still an active investigation.

According to COtrip, the crash on southbound I-25 has been cleared as of 10 a.m.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), a fatal crash closed the southbound lanes of I-25 between Exit 123 near Clear Springs Ranch and Exit 122 near the Pikes Peak International Raceway on Sunday, Sept. 8. A detour is in place, and drivers should avoid the area if possible.
CDOT first reported the crash around 5 a.m. FOX21 News had a crew on the scene and confirmed that the crash was fatal and that at least 13 Law Enforcement Vehicles from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado State Patrol, as well as the Fountain Fire Department, have responded.
