PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A shake-up in Pennsylvania’s cocktail market is creating quite a stir.

Grocery stores, gas stations and other retailers will soon be able to sell ready-to-drink cocktails. Pre-mixed drinks in cans and bottles have only been stocked at Fine Wine and Good Spirits stores up until now.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is accepting applications , starting Tuesday, for permits to sell boozy to-go beverages. Sales would begin on Sept. 16.

The action is the result of legislation signed last month by Gov. Josh Shapiro.
