Agriculture is an important part of Florida's economy. According to the University of Arkansas' Division of Agriculture, Florida had around $7.7 billion in agricultural cash receipts in 2021.

According to The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida has around 47,500 farms using around 9.7 million acres.

Unfortunately, some of Florida's farms closed or were up for sale in 2023. Examples are Monterey Mushrooms, which closed, and Dakin Dairy Farm which is reportedly currently up for sale after over 20 years in business.

There is one more example of a Florida farm that sold - and this one is going to become a luxury community.

About JackRBT Farms: According to Commerce Florida, this nearly 44-acre farm is a for-profit organization located in Atlantis, Florida. It was incorporated in 1997, and it is located near the Atlantis Country Club.

The Pulte Deal And Future Plans: According to the South Florida Business Journal, Pulte Homes purchased the farmland for $30.32 million. Pulte is planning a new community called Greyhawk Landing with 131 single-family homes that would reportedly start in the $700,000s. Expected amenities are a pool, fitness center, and clubhouse.

Property Values In Palm Beach County: With the average home value in Florida currently around $392,000, the price tag of $700,000 may seem substantial. However, according to Realtor.com, the median home price in Palm Beach County is $569,000.

Ratings: Palm Beach County receives an A rating by Niche, with the lowest grade for housing. Residents give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. Many praise the location, the climate, and the amenities.

    One resident wrote:

"I think Palm Beach County is a beautiful place. Most of the residents are kind and helpful. (It) is close enough to the beach where a day trip is easy but far enough away to not be too bothered by the storms. The school district is great, and the neighborhoods are wonderful. My kids and I have only been here a year, and we love it. The climate is also very inviting, almost always warm and most of the time you can find a cool breeze."
