4 FL Outback Steakhouse Stores Appear To Be Among The "Underperforming" Stores That Have Closed

There are some large companies that are based in the Sunshine State with which many Floridians are familiar. Examples are Publix, Raymond James, and Royal Caribbean.

Unfortunately, one large Florida-based corporation recently announced that it would close some of its restaurants. And four Florida stores appear to be among those affected.

Why Bloomin Brands Is Closing Stores - Including Some Florida Outback Steakhouse Locations: Bloomin Brands is based in central Florida. In late February of 2024, the company announced it would close 41 "underperforming" stores, including Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, and Fleming’s.

The company did not release a list of the stores that were affected, but it did indicate that by February 28, 2024, they'd closed 33 of the 41 stores, calling the closures a "business decision."

An Example Of A Popular Store That Florida Appears To Have Lost: According to Patch, the Facebook page of the Sarasota Outback on South Tamiami Trail indicates that it is "permanently closed" (and this is not the only one, which I will outline below.)

This restaurant was popular - with over 2,800 reviews on Google reviews at an average of 4.3 stars.

There are reviews as late as February 27, 2024, which gave the restaurant 5 stars.

Although the closure would suggest that this location is "underperforming" many patrons praised it. A reviewer named Maryann summed it up this way:

"Phil was an amazing server! Food was phenomenal too. Also Cecily the manager made sure we had everything we needed. So happy with the service at this location!"

According to 10 Tampa Bay, the Sarasota location is reportedly the only location in the Tampa area that will close.

However, other areas do not appear to be so lucky.

3 More Florida Closures: Just like the Sarasota store above, 3 more Florida Outback stores have changed their status on Facebook to permanently closed. These include a Jupiter store on Highway 1, one in Miami Beach on 163rd Street, and one in Orlando on Narcoossee Road.
