BJ's Warehouse Clubs Planned For Master-Planned Community In St. Johns County And Brooksville

In the past, when I've written about Florida getting a new warehouse club like Costco or BJ's, some Floridians applaud because not all Florida cities have access to a warehouse club.

For example, there are only just over 30 Costco's in the Sunshine State. And BJ's warehouse will soon get numbers 41 and 42 in Florida with the addition of two new stores.

Many perceive that shopping at a warehouse club can save money. Consumer Affairs has reported that, for those who can afford to buy in bulk, warehouse clubs can bring down the cost per item so much that even with membership fees, shoppers can save money.

About The St. Johns Location: A $400,0000 building permit was issued in mid-May of 2024 for a 104,298-square-foot store on Beachwalk Boulevard.

The store will be located in the master-planned Beachwalk community and this will be the first store in St. John's County.

Although the area has seen recent development, there is a road widening project in the works for 0.7 of a mile roadway from Trinity Way to Beachwalk Boulevard.

A New Brooksville Store: In late April of 2024, BJ's announced a new location in Brooksville. No details were given about an exact location or timeline, but Bill Werner, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Development at BJ’s said:

“Families in Florida and New York love the value of BJ’s membership, and we’re thrilled to bring unexpected savings to more communities as we expand our footprint. Our real estate pipeline is the strongest it’s been in more than 20 years, and we look forward to helping more families save up to 25 percent off grocery store prices every day.”
