Floridians have known for about a year now that Potbelly Sandwich Works is planning a massive expansion into Florida. In January of 2024, I wrote about Potbelly planning around 50 stores in cities like Tampa, Fort Myers, Broward County, Gainesville, and Panama City. Later, it was announced that the Orlando area could expect twelve stores. And now, Plant City has been added to the mix. And the new store could potentially be close to Dunkin, KFC, and Domino's.

About Potbelly: Floridians who migrated to the Sunshine State from Illinois may already be familiar with this Chicago-based chain. The shop is probably best known for its giardiniera sauce on its sandwiches with fresh bread that comes toasted as well as its hand-dipped milkshakes and salads.

Reviews for a store in Tampa are generally positive - giving the chain 4.2 out of 5 stars on Yelp. Many complimented the friendly service and the large, tasty, and fairly priced sandwiches. A reviewer with the handle Culture L wrote:

"Food is amazing. I wish they had this in Fort Myers or somewhere closer to SWFL. By the way, I drove all the way from Fort Myers to Tampa to try this out."

The New Store In Plant City: Paperwork has reportedly been submitted for a Potbelly location in Plant City at the intersection of James L Redman Parkway and West Alexander Street.

This shopping center is already home to KFC, Dunkin, and Domino's. The author is not affiliated with Potbelly Sandwich Works or any other restaurant.
