Florida's "Best" Hospital Of 2024 Is Not The Mayo Clinic But AdventHealth, Per New Study

Because over 21% of Florida's population is over 65, access to top-quality health care is important to many Floridians. As a result, it's not unusual to see rankings of Florida's hospitals. Quite often, Florida's Mayo Clinic tops the list. For example, both Newsweek and U.S News + World Report have ranked the Mayo Clinic as Florida's top hospital in 2024. However, although a new survey by Money recognizes the Mayo Clinic, it did not claim the top spot.

About The Study: To find what it felt were the "best" hospitals of 2024, Money began with 6,000 hospitals across the United States and only considered hospitals that had a 4 or 5 ranking from the Federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The site also looked at doctor experience and transparency in the hospitals' pricing.

Florida's Top Spot Is Also The Nation's Best: Interestingly enough, Florida's top pick was the nation's top pick as well. So Florida's "best" hospital is also considered to be the best in the country, according to Money. It was AdventHealth Orlando, which came in just before New York's University Langone Medical Center and Mayo Clinic.

Floridians appear to have favorable experiences at AdventHealth Orlando if the over 6,100 reviews on Google reviews are any indication. Many reviewers mentioned consistent, compassionate care.

A reviewer named Allyson wrote, in part:

"Every single member of staff we encountered - from check-in for our son’s surgery through recovery was absolutely amazing. We found each team member to be incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable and definitely helped put our mind at ease during our son’s procedure..."

Florida's Highest Ranking Hospitals: Outside of AdventHealth Orlando at number one, Florida had some additional showings. Sarasota Memorial ranked 7th, Jacksonville's Baptist Health Medical Center ranked 21st, and Naples Community Hospital ranked 32nd. Additionally, Tampa's St. Joseph's Hospital ranked 41st, Tampa General Hospital Ranked 45th, and Fort Myers' Lee Memorial Hospital ranked 48th.

Fort Myers' Gulf Coast Medical Center ranked 56th. Finally, Jacksonville's Mayo Clinic ranked 85th.
