After The Closure Of Some FL Hooters Stores, A New One Is Coming To The Villages In A Publix Plaza

Floridians who want chicken wings don't have to go very far. Many local restaurants (and even grocers) sell them. However, there are some longtime establishments based in Florida that specialize in wings. Unfortunately, some of them have shuddered. I've written about the closure of some Bru's Room Florida locations and multiple Florida Hooters restaurants closing in the summer of 2024. Despite the Hooters closures, however, the Villages will be getting a new one in a plaza that is anchored by Publix.

The Planned Hooters In The Villages: In mid-July of 2024, Geno Jarquin, Director of Commerical Development in the Villages took to LinkedIn and announced that "the rumors" were true because Hooters of America has signed a lease at Lake Deaton Plaza on State Road 44. The restaurant is expected to be 4,700 square feet. There is no word on when the new Hooters might be open for business.

Lake Deaton Plaza is anchored by Publix and also features a Walgreens, Jersey Mike's, Piesano's Coal Fired Pizza, and Fantastic Sam's, to name a few examples.

Residents give this shopping center high marks, as it earns 4.7 out of 5 stars on Google reviews. Many mention the convenience of many retail and shopping choices.

    A reviewer named Peter writes:

"Publix, restaurants, banking, medical center, all in one area. Golf cart accessible."

And a reviewer named Richard writes:

"Strip mall located in The Villages. Shopping includes Publix, Walgreens, Piezanos Italian, Chinese food, banks, and others."
