Publix Submits A Permit To Build A New $14 Million Store After Buying The Property For $6.6 Million

If you are a Floridian, you know that Publix is regularly building new stores or renovating old ones. In the last week alone, I've written about Publix potentially bringing a new store to Howey-in-the-Hills and filing plans to demolish and build a new one in St. Petersburg. And now Nocatee may be getting a new Publix as well - if a recent permit application is any indication.

Publix In Nocatee: Nocatee actually already has a Publix - in Nocatee Town Center, and it is well-received, earning 4.5 out of 5 stars. Many praise the parking spaces for golf carts and the cleanliness of the store. A reviewer named Gina Marie wrote:

"This is a gorgeous, vibrant store with an amazing amount of fresh produce. The salad bar is phenomenal. The chopped eggs were running low and a gentleman came and told us he'd be right back with a fresh supply. The checkout line went quickly and the prices were reasonable. If I lived nearby this would be my go-to store!"

The Possibility Of A New Publix Store: Publix has reportedly filed a permit application to build a new 48,387-square-foot store at 75 Irondale Road - south of Nocatee Parkway and west of Valley Ridge Boulevard at Burbank Avenue. The $14 million project would include a 2,100-square-foot retail liquor store and a drive-through pharmacy.

The permit also reportedly includes two additional retail buildings. Publix reportedly purchased the property in May of 2024 for $6.66 million.
