Publix Is Aggressively Expanding & Has 21 New Florida Stores Listed As "Coming Soon" On Its Website

I regularly report on Publix store openings. Sometimes, readers comment that there is too much building and development in Florida and there are enough grocery stores in the Sunshine State. Other readers are happy to have additional shopping options. Depending on which side you take, you'll either be happy or disappointed to know that Publix currently has 21 new Florida stores listed as "coming soon" on its website.

Aggressive Expansion: Floridians likely already know that Publix regularly expands with new stores. The Florida-headquartered grocer opened six new Florida Publix stores in April of 2024 alone.

And in January of 2024, Publix opened its first store in Kentucky - which is the 8th state the chain now operates in. There are also stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
