Military Appreciation Day at Riverfest 2024

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- Riverfest honored those who serve our country Friday with Military Appreciation Day at Riverside Park.

The event began with a flag-folding ceremony, a longstanding military tradition that underscores the flag's significance to veterans and active service members.

Following the ceremony, veterans and active duty members were invited to the 2nd annual Military Lunch sponsored by Hy-Vee. The meal was available to those with their Riverfest Military Appreciation pin.

Throughout Friday, festivities included live music, magic, comedy, a basketball dunk team, and fireworks starting at 9:35 p.m.
