Area Boys and Girls Club's compete in annual Summer Showdown

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- It was a Summer Showdown! Boys and Girls Clubs from La Crosse, Holmen and West Salem engaged in friendly competition on Logan High School's Swanson Field Friday afternoon.

Relay races, water games, obstacle courses and homerun derbies were enjoyed by the kiddos and volunteers, including local police and fire departments.

The annual Summer Showdown is a tradition one Boys and Girls club member looks forward to every year.

"I really like tug-of-war; potato sack race is fun. You get to see all of your friends from BGC's, and you really just get to hang out and have fun with your other friends," says 7th grader Ady Ward.

450 people attended Friday's events.
