    PD: La Joya man found dead inside burned trailer home

    LA JOYA, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — A man was found dead inside a burning mobile home Thursday, authorities say.

    At 1:28 p.m. authorities received multiple 911 calls regarding a structure fire at the 1005 block of Tabasco Road. At the scene, La Joya firefighters saw a mobile home engulfed in flames, La Joya Police Department Public Information Officer Lt. Manuel Casas told ValleyCentral.

    While battling the blaze, firefighters found a man inside the trailer and performed lifesaving measures. The man, identified as 74-year-old Elias Rodriguez, was pronounced dead at the scene.

    The La Joya Police Department and the Hidalgo County Fire Marshall’s Office began an investigation.

    An autopsy has been ordered.
