    6 Arkansas Valley baseball players named to CHSAA all-state teams

    The Colorado High School Activities Association released its 2021 all-state baseball teams on Thursday. Six players from across the Arkansas River Valley were selected. La Junta High School had only one player on the Class 3A team as Zaymien Peteque was an honorable mention selection. Peteque, a senior designated hitter, hit .378 with three doubles, three home runs and 18 runs batted in. Read more

    Superintendent Rick Lovato talks turf, pool at East Otero School District Board of Education meeting

    The East Otero School District R-1 hosted a special board of directors meeting on Wednesday at La Junta Intermediate School. Superintendent Rick Lovato talked about the turf replacement at La Junta High School's Tiger Stadium. The old turf was removed earlier this month with the hopes of completing the project by Aug. 1.
