(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A northwest Indiana man has been arrested over accusations that he operated a full-service bar out of his home.

Authorities said Scott Meece, of La Porte, Ind., ran the Iron Horse Saloon from an addition placed on his home on West McClung Road.

According to court documents, undercover officers were served beer and food by men and women acting as bartenders.

Gambling was also involved, with the winner choosing either a cash price or a motorcycle.

Meece told investigators the Iron Horse Saloon was a not-for-profit organization. He said the $10 cover charge and money collected from drink sales went toward charity donations.

Meece, who has been released from the LaPorte County Jail, could see as much as two-and-a-half years in prison if he’s convicted of his felony charge of maintaining a common nuisance.
