NEPA woman faces animal abuse charges for dumping puppies
In Lackawanna County newborn puppies left in garbage bags in dumpsters have led to charges of animal cruelty. Blakely borough police say 40 year old Catherine Yvette Small told them she believed the five Cane Corso puppies that she directed her teenage son to dispose of in Timberfalls Apartments dumpsters had already died, according to a criminal complaint filed by Cpl. Michael Shaheen. In fact, four were still alive. She was charged Tuesday with a felony count of aggravated animal cruelty. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for later this month.
