Pace Law School establishes Vanessa Merton Immigration Justice Fellowship in her memory
An incredible community leader – Vanessa Merton, recently passed away from pancreatic cancer. Vanessa was a role model in our community – she was smart, very active in civic life in Hastings and in Greenburgh. She helped motivate others to get involved in government and had a tremendous influence in improving the quality of life for so many people. She was an idealist who also helped many immigrants – individuals that others would never try to help. She was the best of the best—honest, hard working, caring, someone not afraid to speak out. Obtaining her support was like getting a great rating from from Consumer Reports. The Greenburgh Town Board will honor Vanessa Merton at our next Town Board meeting on August 14th with a moment of silence and tributes. The meeting starts at 7:30 PM at Town Hall.
