    Juveniles missing after Ladson welfare check were located safe in New Jersey, deputies say

    Officials with the sheriff’s office say the two children have been located safe with family in New Jersey.

    CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C (WCBD) – Authorities are searching for two children after a woman was found dead during a welfare check in Ladson.

    Deputies with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) responded to an address on Highway 78 around 4 p.m. after the New Jersey State Police requested a welfare check.

    A woman was found dead at the scene.

    It was determined that the deceased female had two children, who are currently unaccounted for, Dillon Racancoj (4) and Kenneth Racancoj (9),” the sheriff’s office said.

    The relationship between the juveniles and deceased woman was not provided.

    Anyone who may have information about their whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 843-202-1700 or after hours by calling Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch at 843-743-7200.

    The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and the Forensic Services Unit is investigating.
