LAFAYETTE — High school football teams from the Lafayette area carry another stacked rotation of receivers who will make plays and deliver for their programs in 2024.

Now a new generation of receivers is here to light up the scoreboard on Friday nights. Here's a look at the top five wide receivers to watch in the area heading into 2024.

1. Ray Clayton
School: Central Catholic
Class: Senior
2023 Stats: 80 receptions, 1,024 yards and seven touchdowns.
Scouting report: Clayton is the proven target from this list at 6-foot-5, leading a core of seven receivers who had at least 100 receiving yards or more. Clayton has Division I potential with length. He makes catches against contact and carries a quiet but active leadership style for the Knights who captured the IHSAA Class 2A Regional Championship last season. Clayton has offers from Wabash, DePauw and University of Saint Francis.
2. Leo Dellinger
School : Twin Lakes
Class: Senior
2023 Stats: 14 receptions, 158 yards and one touchdown.
Scouting report: A proven athlete, Dellinger was a valued target and provided leadership in the huddle that allowed Twin Lakes to have its first winning season since 2020.

3. Broderick Arnold
School: McCutcheon
Class: Senior
2023 Stats: 10 receptions, 143 yards and two touchdowns.
Scouting report : Quick feet, good hands and brings a consistent effort as both a wide receiver and defensive back. Watch Arnold's offensive numbers jump has the Mavericks top target in 2024.

4. Omar Williams
School: Lafayette Jeff
Class: Junior
2023 Stats: One catch, six yards.
Scouting report: Williams is expected to have a breakout 2024 as he touts multiple Division I offers including from Ball State and Western Kentucky. Williams is 6-foot-2 and an improved rout runner who will also play defensive back for the Bronchos.
5. Quinn Clary
School: Lafayette Jeff
Class: Junior
2023 Stats: One reception, 24 yards and one touchdown
Scouting report: Clary has emerged during the summer as a potential star after playing behind last year's senior receptions leader Carter Knoy. Clary has been active during summer workouts and is building chemistry with junior quarterback Lannon Nicoloff.
