What Do Pineapples On Clothing, Flags, and Napkins Mean?
We may never look at pineapple the same again. When you pick up a pineapple at the grocery store or fruit stand, you're probably not thinking much of it. Louisiana relies on fruits like watermelon and pineapple to hydrate us on our scorching summer days. However, when you see a...
This downtown pizza restaurant brews beer in under 200 square feet. Here's how they do it.
It took some ingenuity for this pizza restaurant to be able to start serving their in-house brews to the downtown Lafayette community. Jim Deggy's Brick Oven Pizza and Brewery opened its Lafayette location on May 9, but the brewing took a little longer to get off the ground. That's because wastewater runoff restrictions prohibit full-scale breweries from operating in the downtown development district.
Fried crawfish cornbread, beef tips and roasted mirlitons: Best things we ate this week
I’d tell you to run, don’t walk, to Little Big Cup, but located past the sugar cane fields in Arnaudville, it would take you a while. This quaint little restaurant located on Bayou Fuselier, an offshoot of Bayou Teche, has a small-town atmosphere but is big on flavors. The housemade cornbread is somehow light and fluffy even though it is deep-fried. The cornbread is then topped with a sweet bourbon glaze and fried crawfish tails. It’s a sweet and savory appetizer worth the drive to explore the unique menu.

Shaking Out the Good Stuff – CYT Kids Acting Up in Acadiana
If there is one thing kids in South Louisiana know, it's how to pretend. Our culture lends itself to believing in make-believe. And maybe that is why there are so many very strong and vibrant local theatre groups thriving in this part of the state. One of those local theater groups focuses on using the dramatic arts as a way to teach young people not only about live performance but about performing in life.
