    Contracted worker from Lafayette arrested in St. Martin Parish

    ST. MARTINVILLE, La. ( KLFY ) – A contracted worker from Lafayette was arrested for bringing contraband into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.

    According to St. Martin Parish Sheriff Becket Breaux, an investigation led deputies to arrest a contracted food service employee who prepared meals for the inmates. Investigators obtained information that the worker was bringing contraband into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.

    Tynequa Lynkel Leopold, 26 of Lafayette was arrested and charged with criminal conspiracy, introduction of contraband in a penal institution and possession of marijuana.

    Leopold was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. The investigation is ongoing and may result in more arrests. No bond has been set for Leopold.
