ALEXANDRIA, La. ( KLFY ) — A Lafayette psychiatric nurse practitioner who was arrested in 2022 for allegedly providing narcotics in exchange for sexual favors will face jail time and fines after accepting a plea deal in the case.

Mark Declouet pleaded guilty in the 9th Judicial District Court in Alexandria to reduced charges related to drug possession.

He served two of the five years he was sentenced in exchange for supervised parole. The judge ordered Declouet to report to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center by July 24 to begin his sentence.

Declouet was also ordered to surrender his professional nursing practitioner and nursing licenses and instructed that he cannot own or possess a firearm or ammunition during his five-year sentence.
