LPSS community feedback sessions July 17 & 18

The independent strategic planner hired by Lafayette Parish School System - Civic Solutions Group (CSG) - is conducting a comprehensive evaluation of all its schools.

The sessions will include a data presentation from CSG related to the district optimization process, as well as opportunities for participants to engage in small-group discussions about the district's future. These meetings are open to the public.

Gaby Fighetti managing partner at CSG says the study aims to look at several areas of concern for LPSS.

One of the challenges the school district is facing is related to enrollment. Enrollment in the school district is declining somewhat as students attend other options whether private or charter schools," said Fighetti.

Data collected from the public meetings will be taken to the Lafayette Paris school board including recommendations

"We will be going to the board in the coming weeks to say here is the culmination of the community engagement we did, here are the three to five priorities the community has for Lafyette Public schools," said Fighetti.
