LAFAYETTE, La. ( KLFY )– Himbola Manor Apartments are undergoing inspections for maintenance damages.

The Louisiana Housing Corporation mandated Himbola management to inspect each unit after they received multiple reports of unresolved maintenance issues.

“The inspections are to make sure residents are living in decent, safe and sanitary conditions,” the Housing Corporation said.

Residents have told News 10 that management has not fixed their maintenance issues, but that is changing.

In the notice Himbola’s management sent to residents, they tell residents violations will be given for unreported repairs, housekeeping issues and any damages.

“Any damages that we find in the apartment will also be given a violation and will be charged for the repairs,” the notice reads.

Past concerns from residents include collapsed ceilings, mold and broken plumbing.

“I want to see somebody that’s concerned and fix up things,” one tenant said. “Just because we are in low environment and income in this don’t mean y’all need to keep us living like that.”

News 10 spoke to management while they were inspecting an apartment, and they declined to comment. We reached out to the complex owner’s corporate office and did not receive a response.
