Roseland Resolution to Pave Way for Electronic Pedestrian Crossing Signs
ROSELAND, NJ -- The Roseland Borough Council at its Tuesday, July 16 meeting approved an ordinance authorizing a Memorandum of Understanding with Essex County regarding the installation and maintenance of electronic pedestrian crossing signs. "They are going to be in the center of town and they're going to go at the crosswalk," Roseland Councilwoman Jean Perrotti explained. "The pedestrian pushes the button and the lights flash."CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER Perrotti said that, according to Roseland Deputy Police Director John Matheis, "If you have it flash all the time, it doesn't signal the car, so we're going to have it flash when the button is pushed." 10,000th blood donation expected Saturday
New Jersey Blood Services (NJBS) will host a blood drive from 7:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, July 20 at the Saint Kateri Parish, 427 Stanhope Ave., Sparta. The drive will celebrate the parish’s 10,000th blood donation since it began hosting blood drives with NJBS more than two decades ago.

To earn the award, a program must have maintained a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale) during the 2023-24 academic year. The Pioneers joined Kean and Rowan as the only New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) programs to receive the honor. Did Water Company Harm Some Roxbury Wells?
ROXBURY, NJ – New Jersey American Water (NJAW), a company that provides water to many properties in Roxbury, is investigating whether its actions impacted some private wells in Succasunna. The company, last week, installed an above-ground, temporary water line along Green Lane to alleviate the problem while it conducts the probe. The water line, painted orange, is connected to a hydrant behind Suburban Furniture on Main Street. 2024 Run & Walk for Roseland
Participants have the choice to participate in the 5k run ($35) or the 1.5 mile walk ($30). All interested persons are asked to register by no later September 22. 8-year-old killed while riding bike on N.J. street identified
An 8-year-old boy who was fatally struck by a car while riding his bike last week has been identified as Avyaan Gupta, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office said. Avyaan was struck and killed by an SUV in Parsippany on July 9, officials said. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the 5:34 p.m. crash on the 100 block of Littleton Road.
