The Pine Island Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce this year’s Black Dirt Scholarship winners. The Chamber is awarding four scholarships of $1500 each to students who demonstrate a commitment to and involvement in community volunteer service or community work experience. Saretzky, curator, archivist, photographer and educator, discussed the photographic work of Grant Castner, Belvidere native. Titled “Grant Castner, Trenton Photography: The Delaware River and Canals, 1890-1920,” the webinar featured much of Castner’s work that is on display at the New Jersey State Museum until September 15, 2024.

Blairstown School Taxes to Jump
Taxpayers in Blairstown and Hardwick will see a significant bump in their local school taxes in the revised budget proposed by the Blairstown board of education this month. The tax levy of $8.4 million will result in a tax increase of 9.67% for Hardwick residents and 8.56% for Blairstown residents.
