Arrest in Paterson, NJ shooting that injured a man
PATERSON — An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that took place the day after the Fourth of July in Passaic County, according to the prosecutor’s office. On Tuesday, July 16, a city man, Jhon Garcia, 29, was arrested in connection to a shooting that took place on Friday, July 5 near Park Avenue and East 18th Street.
Giants, Jets Joint Practice Date Set

Roseland Resolution to Pave Way for Electronic Pedestrian Crossing Signs
ROSELAND, NJ -- The Roseland Borough Council at its Tuesday, July 16 meeting approved an ordinance authorizing a Memorandum of Understanding with Essex County regarding the installation and maintenance of electronic pedestrian crossing signs. "They are going to be in the center of town and they're going to go at the crosswalk," Roseland Councilwoman Jean Perrotti explained. "The pedestrian pushes the button and the lights flash."CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER Perrotti said that, according to Roseland Deputy Police Director John Matheis, "If you have it flash all the time, it doesn't signal the car, so we're going to have it flash when the button is pushed." (BPT) - Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (CBMC), an RWJBarnabas Health facility, has received a visionary gift of $30 million from Andrea and Anthony Melchiorre to support the new multidisciplinary standalone cancer center now under construction on the hospital campus in Livingston, New Jersey. The Melchiorre Cancer Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center will open in 2025.

YMCA fundraiser is Saturday
The YMCA of Montclair will host an evening on the waterfront from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 20 at the Upper Greenwood Lake Clubhouse, 435 N. Lake Shore Drive, Hewitt.
