21-year-old man drowns in Townsend Lake, Oakland Co. sheriff addresses spike in drownings
INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — A man drowned in Townsend Lake in Independence Township on Tuesday afternoon. The victim, a 21-year-old from Highland Township, was swimming in the lake with another male friend when he went underwater but did not come back up, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said.

Michael Easton entered into eternal light peacefully on the morning of Saturday, July 13, 2024. He was 29. Born April 17, 1995, Michael lived in Barry Lakes all his life. Graduating from Vernon Township High School in 2013 and Lincoln Tech in 2018, Michael was a skilled mechanic, a passionate chef and a popular mixologist.

The beginning of photography art in nature is a moment in time, perfectly captured light, shadow and reflection from a river that has no pause. In a recent webinar, Gary D. Saretzky, curator, archivist, photographer and educator, discussed the photographic work of Grant Castner, Belvidere native. Titled “Grant Castner, Trenton Photography: The Delaware River and Canals, 1890-1920,” the webinar featured much of Castner’s work that is on display at the New Jersey State Museum until September 15, 2024.

Blairstown School Taxes to Jump
