All-Star outfielder Mookie Betts returned to the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup on Monday, homering in his first game back from the injured list. However, while he is back in the Dodgers lineup, Betts isn’t staying with the team at their hotel.

The Dodgers schedule took them to Wisconsin for the start of the week as part of a four-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers. Typically, MLB teams book a hotel close to the stadium so it’s a quick trip to the ballpark and players are all in one place. However, Betts found other accommodations.

According to Mike DiGiovanna of The Los Angeles Times , Betts is paying for an Air BnB t stay at because the hotel where the Dodgers are staying is supposed to be haunted.

The Pfister Hotel, originally built in 1893, is located in the heart of Milwaukee. It’s undergone multiple reservations since, but stories of the 21-floor hotel being haunted have followed it for years.

Betts’ decision isn’t being made just because of online rumors or scary stories on Reddit. The Dodgers’ MVP candidate has heard stories from his peers about one of the most haunted hotels used by MLB teams .

    Is the Dodgers’ hotel haunted?

Many well-known MLB players, from Hall of Fame third baseman Adrian Beltre to starting pitcher Jon Gray, have shared their haunted experiences at the Pfister Hotel.

“The third baseman “heard knocking noises on his door, while the television and air conditioning repeatedly turned on and off. He also claimed to have heard pounding noises from the other side of his headboard like a man hitting his open hand against the wood.”

Allegedly, there have also been objects manipulated inside the hotel and “electrical anomalies” that spooked guests. Despite that, it remains one of the highest-rated hotels in Milwaukee and is clearly the preferred stop for the Dodgers.

Next on the Dodgers schedule is a trip to Busch Stadium to face the St. Louis Cardinals, where Betts should once again be back in the same hotel as his teammates.
