It’s been a feeling since the 2023 Holiday Bowl who would be the USC Trojans 2024 starting quarterback, but after the transfer of Jayden Maiava, Lincoln Riley would not commit to naming a starting QB without a true QB battle.

Well, the day has come and Riley has now named his starting QB .

Lincoln Riley Names Miller Moss USC Trojans Starting Quarterback

Moss has patiently waited his turn to be the lead man for the Trojans, and now it has paid off.

At the end of last season, there was plenty of doubt about who would succeed Caleb Williams. Moss had never started a game, and Riley began making the rounds for transfer portal QBs. Many thought that former Kansas State QB, Will Howard, was the favorite to transfer in and take over the job. That was until Moss’s record-setting performance in the Holiday Bowl.

However, there still needed to be competition. Mountain West Freshman of the Year, Jayden Maiava, transferred in and the stage was set.

After watching a few practices and the Spring Game, it was clear that the offense would be in good hands, regardless of who the lead man was.

Moss was always seen as the favorite, and the leader of the team, but Maiava continued to push and keep the pressure on, and he will continue to do so throughout the season.

The Trojans have a really solid QB room and are now set to take on LSU with Miller Moss leading the way.

The season opens on September 1, in Las Vegas . We are sure to be in for some fireworks.
